The presentation introduces the lead recycling industry in China, together with an analysis of the recycling of used lead–acid batteries in China. The development trends for the industry, as dictated by government policy, and the market status are both examined. The former is increasingly influential on the operations of the lead recycling industry because the government has been issuing guidelines and regulations for since 2012. The market demand for lead in China is 4.7 million tons that include 1.8 million tons of recycled lead. The capacity for smelters is increasing rapidly. Consequently, the potential for recycled lead is enormous and presents huge business opportunities.
